The german word “Übergang” translates to transition, crossover or intersection. These translations again vary in their particular meanings. What can we learn about transitions through photography and the photo-optical examinination that meticulously studies the bendings and weldseams of a simple chrome stand of an old chair? How does it – this hard and shiny crome stand disappearing into the soft and milky water of a puddle – interview the recipients mind and provoke his*her ideas about what a transition is and could be?
